Philosophy of School

Our school has been founded to offer children a motivating environment for their natural development in order to discover their surrounding world and themselves. This concept is based on childrens need to learn, examine, discover, communicate and socialize.

The teacher takes advantage of the child´s attention, offers activities according to his Sensitive Periodes and directs appropriate activities for their development.

Our goal is to stimulate children to discover a new world, build self-support and self-confidence, mutual respect and love. We apply to a significant extent the concepts of a child-centered approach to education based on the method of Dr. Maria Montessori (see also www.montessori-ami.org).

The school is open for all children from 2.5 to 7 years. The children can attend in the morning or the whole day on all or selected weekdays.

The school actively cooperates with parents, who are encouraged to consult with the teacher on any matter related to the development of their children. The parents receive a daily report of the child´s classwork and bi-annual reports summarizing the progress their child has made in the given period. This report is shared at a parent/teacher conference.
